To open up
I sometimes need to close down
Close my impressionable eyes
Close my eager ears
Fold in upon myself
Letting all the waves of my mind subside
Gradually approaching the core of stillness
There I can reflect
discover the mountain in the lake
feel how the douds in the sky are mirrored
a bird flying over
fish gliding in the depths
There I can walk along the shore
blades of grass quiver
the water laps gently
my mind is enchanted
Time has almost stopped
I have touched eternal nature
Now when I open my eyes they are soft
Now when I open my ears they are smiling
Now I can enter the market place
I can see the lake in everyone’s eyes
